Coup De Coeur – a figure of speech which roughly translates to “love at first sight” – is a newsletter which drops every other Saturday documenting my favourite finds and mini obsessions.
"If you wish for flowers, don't be surprised when it rains"
My 26th year so far has been one of growing pains. They say your prefrontal cortex finally finishes cooking when you hit 25, but they don’t tell you the next thing that happens. For months I’ve felt out of place in my own body, frustrated just because I can’t quite yet fit into the shoes of the girl I want to be next. Like my tangible self hasn’t caught up to the person I’ve mentally grown into.
To mediate the effects of this very unsettling stage, I’ve taken up documentation as a way to orient and ground myself. Of course, I forget to mention that metamorphosis has also been crazy fun times – but leave it to me to cling to structure and make homework out of everything. I blame my Virgo sun for this.
Coup de Coeur is a series of notes on my latest loves, and my way of finding meaning (and myself??) in the mayhem.
things i find very chic
⋆˙⟡ dressing gowns at home
this Ralph Lauren Satin Kimono is the #1 irrational thing on my wishlist rn
⋆˙⟡ lace accents with leather, suede, or cashmere
⋆˙⟡ kitchenware shaped like living things
shellfish, fruits, flowers etc.
⋆˙⟡ sequin mini bags
⋆˙⟡ mini polka dots
this RIXO georgette scarf has my heart. Also SUSAMUSA’s mesh polka-dot skirt which is now sold out because I couldn’t justify purchasing a see-through skirt for £90.
pastry log
⋆˙⟡ pistachio dark chocolate pain suisse, Layla Bakery
finally got to try something at Layla – they sell out so quickly so you have to get there by noon (latest) if you want a decent pick. This was everything you want in a pastry – crispy, buttery and stuffed with pistachio cream with smatterings of smooth dark chocolate. Divine.
⋆˙⟡ coffee toffee cookie, Levain Bakery
have to admit I had one too many of these in New York. A giant cookie so soft and rich it was like biting into a fudgy chocolate cloud. Also had the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter cookie and it was equally delicious.
⋆˙⟡ chocolate coffee granola, Trader Joe’s
technically not pastry but I had to include this. The best and most sinful granola I’ve ever had… so now I’m heartbroken they don’t have TJ’s here and considering paying someone on eBay £40 to ship it to London for me.
⋆˙⟡ honey cake, GAIL’S
a bite-sized sponge treat with a thin coat of cinnamon honey glaze and a very pretty sprinkle of blue cornflower petals. I’d say actually worth £1.80 for that one bite?
things i bought recently
⋆˙⟡ Sézane Denisa Jumper
I think I might be a Sézane girly. Since moving to London I’ve begun an obsession with finding quality knitwear – as an island girl who lived in perpetual summer I literally did not own a single decent piece before. I find myself absentmindedly touching sweaters and cardigans in stores and scrutinising their fabric composition labels – I get very disappointed when polyester shows up in the mix and never knew the words “100% wool” could be such a turn-on.
⋆˙⟡ Vogue Italia March 2025

with Ariana Grande on the cover, soul food.
⋆˙⟡ Onitsuka mexico 66 in silver
I’m roughly 2 years late on this bandwagon but it’s so comfy and versatile that it doesn’t matter.
